About the company Gedeon Richter One of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Central and Eastern Europe, with a 116-year history, which produces and markets ready-made pharmaceutical products, and also conducts research activities. The company is present in more than 45 countries and encompasses 6 factories, 29 representative offices, 37 commercial divisions and joint ventures, employing more than 11 thousand people. The portfolio of the company includes more than 200 high-quality drugs, used in all areas of medicine. Gideon Richter is also active in the development of biosimilar drugs. In 2015, the group’s sales amounted to 1.1 billion euros. About 10% of the sales volume of Gedeon Richter is directed to the development of new drugs, which allows it to remain among the leaders of the industry. About the representative office of Gedeon Richter in Moldova This year the official representative office turned 20 years old. It was opened in 1997 and became the second structure of the Hungarian manufacturer in Moldova, the first being the Moldovan-Hungarian warehouse of the joint venture “RihPan- GalPharma”, operating since 1996. The construction of two warehouses along European standards (in Chisinau and Balti) and the launch of its own network of 55 socially-oriented pharmacies allowed the company to introduce a vertically integrated model of medicines movement - the only one in Moldova. This system excludes the appearance of additional costs in the process of medicines supply and the increase of their final cost in the pharmacy retail. About 300 Moldovan citizens are employed in all its subdivisions in Moldova. According to the Pharmaceutical Marketing Group, for more than 16 years Gedeon Richter is holding the first place on the Moldovan pharmaceutical market, where today there are more than 800 foreign and local manufacturers.
